Edit Lab: Speed, Style & Story
See my timeline, shortcuts, and pacing tricks - then fix yours live.
Overview
This is a 1:1 call for creators who want to edit faster, tell a clearer story, and feel more confident with their timeline. This isn’t “watch a tutorial and hope it applies to you.” We sit down together, go through your actual project, and get specific. You show me something you’re proud of, and we break down your edit, pacing, structure, and decisions so you know exactly what’s working and what needs to change. You can also show me a video you wish you could make (mine or someone else’s), and we’ll pull apart why it works and how you can move toward that. A big part of this session is efficiency. I work with brands that sometimes expect a full deliverable in two days. That used to stress me out, until I learned how to build a workflow that lets me deliver fast and keep quality high. I’ll show you how I set up my projects, how I organise footage and assets, my keyboard shortcuts, how I build pacing around music and voiceover, and how I stop wasting time in the timeline. We’ll also talk story. You can have the best footage, but if the edit doesn’t communicate the idea, it won’t land. We’ll look at how you’re telling the story, where the energy drops, and how to shape something that feels intentional instead of “I just threw clips together.” You can ask anything - pacing, structure, reels vs YouTube, dealing with client deadlines, finishing faster without feeling like you’re rushing. I’ll also show you my own timeline from a real project so you can literally see how I build. After the call, I’ll send you my folder / project structure (DaVinci Resolve and Premiere), plus useful assets: film burns, essential SFX, transitions, and a basic node structure and LUT, so you’re not starting from scratch. You don’t need to be on the same software for this to work. I edit in DaVinci Resolve now, but I spent eight years in Premiere. The tool doesn’t matter. It’s about knowing your setup and being efficient in it. You leave this call with clear changes to make in your edit, and a way of working that lets you move quicker without losing quality. If you’re serious about improving and you’re ready to actually apply notes after the call, this is for you. This isn’t for you if… - you’re still unsure whether you even want to make videos - you’re not ready to invest time + energy outside the call - you’re not open to direct, kind feedback - you’re not bringing any footage / project to look at together
